Shark Cage Diving Gansbaai trip and transport times
WSDC offers 1 to 3 cage diving trips daily, with departure times ranging from early morning to midday.
To provide a personalized and exclusive shark diving experience, White Shark Diving Company limits the number of passengers on each trip. This ensures increased shark diving time in the cage.
The entire Shark Cage Diving Gansbaai excursion, from your arrival at our premises to your departure, typically takes about four and a half hours. The time spent at sea, from launch to return to the harbor, is approximately 2 to 3 hours. The specific dive/cage time and the number of dive sessions can vary daily based on shark activity and sea conditions. When making your booking, please plan for a full day, as we cannot guarantee exact start or finish times in advance.
For travelers coming from Cape Town, the journey typically takes around 2.5 hours. If you opt to make use of our transport service, collection times will be confirmed on the day prior to your trip.
Please note that trip times may vary due to factors such as seasonal changes, tides, sea conditions, the number of daily trips, shark activity, and more. For your convenience, we highly recommend booking your tour for the earliest available date during your holiday. This allows flexibility for rescheduling in case weather conditions are not favorable for your chosen date. Our team will review the final 24-hour weather and sea report on the day before your dive. We will then send you an email with the updated trip schedule and transport pick-up times to ensure you are well-prepared for your dive experience.

🦈 Wildlife Sightings Update
Recent shark sightings have predominantly featured an abundance of beautiful schooling Bronze Whaler Sharks, averaging 3 to 3.5 meters in length.
We are so happy to report that the last sighting of a great white shark was on 31 October 2025, a beautiful 3-meter apex predator.
Great Whites are critically endangered in South Africa, with only a few hundred individuals remaining.
While Gansbaai offers unique viewing opportunities, sightings are unpredictable. Encountering a Great White is a privilege and cannot be guaranteed.
Your support directly funds vital research and protection efforts for these magnificent creatures.
