Arrival & Welcome
Hookah Shark Cage Dive
After the briefing, we board our custom vessel and head out to the dive site (approximately 15–20 minutes). Once anchored, the cage is secured alongside the boat and the Hookah diving system, which uses surface-supplied air for easy breathing, is set up.
Guests are divided into small groups (usually 5 at a time) and take turns entering the cage for their dive sessions. While in the water, enjoy clear, uninterrupted views of Bronze Whaler Sharks, rays, and a variety of other marine life.
When not diving, guests can relax on the upper deck, watching the action from above with a beverage in hand. The total duration of the Hookah Dive experience, from arrival to return, is approximately 4½ hours.
All diving gear is provided, and professional video footage of your trip is available for purchase.
Whale Watching Excursion
After returning to shore and enjoying a hot post-dive meal at our crew house, guests take a short drive to Gansbaai Harbour for the afternoon Whale Watching Cruise with Ivanhoe Sea Safaris.
From June to December, the sheltered waters of Walker Bay provide incredible opportunities to view Southern Right Whales, while Bryde’s Whales, Humpback Whales, dolphins, Cape Fur Seals, African Penguins, and various seabirds may also be seen year-round.
Each trip is led by a professional marine guide who provides fascinating insight into whale behaviour, ecology, and conservation. Boat-based whale watching follows strict responsible-viewing guidelines — we are licensed to approach within 50 metres, allowing for remarkably close encounters without disturbing the animals.
The cruise typically lasts around 2 hours, though time at sea may be extended depending on sightings and conditions.
