Shark sightings are not guaranteed, as we operate in the wild ocean environment and work with animals in their natural habitat. That said, Gansbaai is one of the best places in the world to see sharks.
This region is a natural aggregation site, just a 15-minute boat ride from Kleinbaai Harbour, where shark activity is consistently high — particularly for bronze whaler sharks, which we see year-round.

Yes! We offer door-to-door return transport from Cape Town. It’s optional and can be added when booking. It’s not included in the dive price but is discounted during our winter specials.
Yes, although sightings are rarer than in the past. Their numbers have declined in the area due to natural changes like orca predation and ongoing human impact on marine ecosystems.

Even when great whites aren’t present, Gansbaai remains one of the most active shark diving locations in the world, with regular sightings of bronze whaler sharks and other marine life.
While we can’t offer refunds for no sightings — as we work with wild animals in their natural environment — we always strive to deliver an unforgettable marine experience.
If sharks aren’t spotted on your trip, our crew will take you on a scenic tour around Dyer Island, where you’ll get to see Cape fur seals, seabirds, and learn about shark behaviour, marine ecosystems, and our conservation efforts.
In the event of no shark sightings, you’ll receive a No-Shark Voucher, valid for 2 years, which allows you to return for another trip free of charge. The only cost that will apply is transport, should you choose to make use of it.
Yes. We’ve been doing this for over 26 years with a flawless safety record. Our crew is highly experienced, our equipment is top-notch, and your safety is our first priority on every trip.
Nope! No swimming or diving experience is required. You’ll be in a secure cage attached to the boat and guided the whole way. We’ve had guests from all walks of life take the plunge!
Standard cage diving uses breath-holding and snorkel masks.
Hookah diving uses onboard air supply so you can breathe underwater the whole time — no certification required. It allows for longer, more immersive cage time.
Participants must be at least 12 years old for diving. Viewing-only trips are open to all ages. A general level of mobility is required for boarding the boat, and we’ll guide you every step of the way.
Absolutely. Our Viewing-Only option lets you stay dry while enjoying all the action from the boat. You’ll still see sharks up close and be part of the experience and our upper viewing deck gives excellent views of the shark activity which takes place on the surface.

With round-trip transport, it’s a full-day experience (typically 6am–5pm).
If you meet us in Gansbaai, allow 3–4 hours total, including briefing, launch, dive, and return to shore.

A light breakfast is recommended. If you’re prone to motion sickness, take medication 1 hour before departure. Our crew is trained to help and keep you comfortable throughout.
You can wear contact lenses under your mask. Glasses won’t fit in the diving mask, but we’ll do our best to accommodate you if needed — let us know in advance.

The water can be chilly (especially in winter), but we provide thick wetsuits, hoods, and booties. Our team will help you gear up and warm you up with hot drinks afterward.
Trips run year-round, but winter offers amazing conditions and fewer crowds. Booking at least a few days in advance is recommended, especially for hookah diving or transport.
